Project Description

At the same time as Sony's new, white PlayStation Portable (PSP), the game »LocoRoco« is launched: a Jump&Roll game in front of a two-dimensional background in which the wobbly LocoRocos are set in motion by tilting the environment.

By placing the banner campaign on non-player web portals (Neon, Max, Stern, Spiegel, Amica, etc.), a wider target group inexperienced in PlayStation games is meant to be addressed.

Tasks

Implementation of four unusual, interactive web banner concepts with a focus on the tilting mechanism of the PSP game.

Concept & Implementation

Banner »Weird singers«: in the top banner, the LocoRocos sing their weird melody (with different voices) on mouseover – the PSPs in the right-hand banner respond with a little dance:
»Weird singers«

Banner »Doubly weird«: both banners can be tilted by the user so that the LocoRocos falling into the banner start rolling and finally tumble onto the PSPs in the right-hand banner from the top (incl. LocoRoco soundloop during mouseover):
»Doubly weird«

Banner »Wonderfully weird«: the LocoRocos wildly roll around in the banner until it tips over and brings the PSPs into the picture – the user can accelerate the tilting process (incl. LocoRoco soundloop during mouseover):
»Wonderfully weird«

Banner »Weird chubby«: the little LocoRocos fight their way through the website and melt into one chubby Loco which then expands the banner – if you come too close, it eats the user’s mouse pointer:
»Weird chubby«
